The 2024 lineup of performing artists for the Muncie Three Trails Music Series has been announced! We are honored, pleased and humbled to be presenting these fine artists and groups for your enjoyment. REV. PEYTON'S BIG DAMN BAND

Saturday, July 27th, 2024 7pm at Canan Commons

with special guest opener Lovesick Moan

There aren’t a lot of Warped Tour veterans who can claim proficiency in country blues style finger-picking or in the use of bottleneck slides, washboards, and five-gallon buckets. Most didn’t spend their teens playing along to Charlie Patton and Bukka White albums. And just about none are fronted by a commissioned member of the Honorary Order of Kentucky Colonels. Welcome to Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, the greatest front-porch blues band in the world. With the Reverend as one of the world’s foremost country blues style finger-pickers, his wife, “Washboard” Breezy Peyton, playing with all the nuance and percussive power of a New Orleans drum line, and Max Senteney performing on a lean drum kit that includes a 5-gallon maple syrup bucket, there’s not another band out there that sounds like this or has a stage show of this caliber.

JOE MULLINS & THE RADIO RAMBLERS

Joe Mullins’ music is best described as authentic bluegrass, marked by consistently clean harmonies, Joe’s driving Scruggs-style banjo playing, and his band’s entertaining showmanship. Mullins has recorded over 22 albums and had eleven #1 songs, and has received over a dozen awards, including “Banjo Player of the Year” in 2023 from the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music Association (SPGMA), as well as the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) 2019 award for “Entertainer of the Year” (with the Radio Ramblers), the highest award a band can earn within the genre.

THE SENSATIONAL BARNES BROTHERS

Presented by the Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County

The Sensational Barnes Brothers are a melting pot of the old and the new. Chris and Courtney Barnes are able to dive deep into their roots, creating a sound that reflects the music of their history, all the while drawing in a modern-day audience. As Pop Matters states, “The brothers run through a spectrum of moods and modes in their gospel soul, often bridging the gap between, say, the Soul Stirrers and Stax, all the while keeping a [Memphis} flavor.”

Equal parts passion, grit, and musical ecstasy, SYBARITE5 is an intoxicating cocktail of genre-breaking artistry expressed through the virtuosity and musicality of its members. Having performed in 44 states and 3 continents (and counting), Sybarite5 brings listeners on a musical journey of staggering breadth and depth with new works by living composers, as well as the group’s favorite selections the classical repertoire as well as from such diverse sources Radiohead, John Coltrane, Astor Piazzolla, and Pete Seeger.... But as Strings Magazine says: “…that doesn’t even begin to describe the range of their eclecticism or the depth of their repertoire.”
